I'm building an fbody t56 to replace the m21 muncie in my '85 c10. I really want to retain my current shifter location and stick if possible. If I do a keisler front shift conversion it moves the shifter about 6" forward from where I want it. I can't use the fbody shifter location as it comes up right in the middle of my bench seat. It looks to me like the cobra extension housing and shifter would put me right where I want to be, roughly 19.5" from the bell housing. So two questions:

-can a cobra t56 extension housing be swapped onto an fbody t56 by simply shortening the shift rail?
-if so, where the hell would I find a cobra extension housing? (I've searched for hours!)

EDIT: D&D carries the cobra ext housing so there's one question answered
