Default Crazy Question! How to drain G8 gas tank filled with 89 octane

I need to drain a gas tank full of 89 octane to refill it with 93 octane. I just installed a a Procharger and it needs to be run and tuned on 93. Before you ask, I wasn't the one who filled it with 89

In the past on my 98 SS I have hooked a hose to the fuel rail and turned the engine on to drain the tank. I cant do this on the G8 because I cannot run the engine since it has not been tuned yet. With the key turned to on it still doesn't work. It seems like it has a set time to build up pressure and then it shuts off.

Does anyone know of a way to trick the fuel pump to run so I can get the fuel out of it? It has half a tank and I will be happy if I can get most of it out.

Jump the fuel pump relay and run the feed hose that goes to the rail to a gas can.

A g8 will not transfer fuel from half of the tank unless you maintain fuel pressure for the siphon pump.

It will remove half the fuel if done as mentioned a above.

Did not know that it had saddle tanks. Looks like the pump access is under the rear seat. I guess you could pull the fuel pump out and siphon the fuel out of the tank.

I guess there is no access to the sending unit/pump unless I drop the tank?

In alldata it looks as if there are access panels under the rear seat.

What about octane booster and drive the car to work for a week without any boost? I know it's not as fun but it's pretty easy.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to have Race Proven Motorsports drain the fuel after they do a base tune to get it started.
