Default Replaced clutch/flywheel/slave = HARD pedal

I'm 2/3 through installing a LS7 clutch, flywheel and LS7 slave in my 05 V. No big problems during the process. After re-installing the trans, driveshaft & shifter, I pushed the clutch pedal expecting it to go to the floor and it is hard. I mean, zero movement. The slave is not connected at all and the bleeder is open.

When I turn the driveshaft by hand, the wheels turn at the back and the rear trans yolk turns too. When torquing the pressure plate bolts, the engine turned over, so I know from the pressure plate forward is turning. That says to me that I've got a problem with the slave or the way the two are mated - I think? Sliding the trans back onto the engine went ok, since I have a fancy trans jack (a must have) so I didn't feel anything go wrong during that process.

Or, of course, I could be prematurely judging things and should just bleed the clutch, etc. and check again, but I seem to have the opposite problem of most people.

Thanks for your help!

Why is the slave not connected?

Smh hook the damn slave up.. There is a check valve in the connector so of course the peddle isn't gonna move

hooked up, no change

a suggestion I've been given: the clutch fork isn't centered correctly between the studs on the slave

I wanted to test it with and without the slave connected in a step by step process, not thinking about the check valve.

Going to check for binding issues now...

That was going to be my next suggestion, to make sure it snapped in place.
Glad you figured it out

I'm clearly not afraid to ask stupid questions so here's one more: did I screw up like I think I did by putting a little grease on the input shaft?

Yup, and at this point you just gotta hope the grease has no chemical reaction with the clutch material to cause a failure. I highly doubt it so you should have nothing to worry about.

I haven't even turned the engine over... Figure I might pull the trans and wipe it off before it slings grease around
