Default How to make my p1sc louder at idle

Have a p1sc procharger on a 2001 camaro Ss I just bought at a auction. I got the car to start up and the blower is not as loud as I thought it would be. How can I make it louder??

P.s the car had sucked up water. So can this be a reason for it not being loud??

Quick video of the car

Any input will be greatly appreciated

i know, just poking at ya. Honestly, the ps1c is not a loud blower. As long as it builds boost its working fine, but specifically there isnt much you can do to make it louder, to my knowledge.

Thats about what a P1SC should sound like. If you want it louder, sell the P1SC & buy a D1SC or F1A kit.....and a set of ear plugs

What bypass valve does it have. If its the small pro flow vented back into the blower hat you could upgrade to the big red bypass and vent it to the atmosphere. That will make some more noise.

Put a smaller pulley on it. When I went from a 4.25 to 3.4 It made a huge difference In sound at idle and part throttle cruise.

So changing the pulley made it whistle a little louder where did u buy it at? And how do I know if it's going into atmosphere or if it's going back to the blower?

Here's a pic if the bov

Yeah, if you open up the bypass valve, you'll hear the blower more. Also, it could possibly have helical cut gears in it which makes it quieter as well. Procharger offered them as an option on the P1/D1's. Check for the serial number of the unit and email Procharger and they can tell you if it has helical gears or not.

So is the bypass valve the bov? And I'll look the serial # Up now and email them to procharger.

Don't forget you will have to retune it when you pulley down.

35thsscamaro02 yea I will try and buy the bov and pulley this week. I actually only bought that white camaro just for the blower setup. Will be taking it apart this week. So it still gives me time to buy the items and tune it all at once. Hope it comes out louder than what it is now. Also I'm at 400rwhp now. Will be changing my cam current cam for a blower cam. Any idea of what it might put down at 8lbs of boost?

It's like the threads where guys ask for a cam that lopes a lot. Who picks a cam based on how it lopes???

To each his own I guess. Since it's only a P1, I wouldn't be eager to make it an attention grabber. Hell, I don't like the fact that my D1 is so loud because guys ask me if it's an F-series blower, and are then dissapointed that it's 'only' a D1.

Blown06 yes it's a serious thread. I'm new to f.i plus I did google some of he answered but I didn't really understand them. So decided to make a thread that's all

35thsscamaro thanks for all your useful comments

The alchemist I just wanted to make it loud. I mean to me it's bigger than the v9 g trim I had originally bought. Now I know the p1 is the baby of procharger
