They were up to $260-270 a couple of months ago.
They are worth every penny IMO.

They are 245 each on amazon with free shipping. That means a lot when you are shipping to alaska.

And the difference is even bigger than $9/tire, since DTD's prices include free shipping. Normally the two sites are pretty close (within a couple/few bucks once shipping is added to TR's pricing), so I'm kind of surprised DTD is that much cheaper in this case.

Sumitomo's HTR Z II 275/40-18

I'm broke. Always spending the $ on the go fast parts and not planning for tires. So, I shop for deals! While they are no michelins, I like them. They are quiet, grip good, and oh yeah, CHEAP! I can have 4 of these for the price of 2 of those pilots. Also, I used to put those pilots on my rocket. They were one of the most expensive and they wore out the fastest! Not saying it transfers to their street car tires, but I am not a fan.

I bought my 245/45R18 Super Sports at Discount Tire first week of December 2012. I got them for $200/tire plus $70 mail-in from michelin and $50 mail-in from discount. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Michelin does have that promotion running again at Discount.

The Michelin PSS has a 30,000-mile treadwear warranty. I'm pretty sure it's the only ultra high performance or max performance summer tire to offer such a warranty.

I'm perfectly happy with my Continental DWs, which are about 20% cheaper, but there's no denying that the PSS is a superb tire.

The Michelin Pilot Super Sports also come with a 3 year Michelin Promise Plan.

"A qualified service professional will change your flat and install your spare tire or provide towing at no charge. In case of a flat tire, simply call 1-888-553-4327 and a qualified professional will change the tire or provide towing up to 150 miles for free. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the U.S. and Canada."

Which is pretty badass for not having a spare tire at all and worrying about getting a flat.

If they are all black and round to you, here's some for $100:

Super Sports are well worth their cost for the enjoyment to me. Now that the threat of snow has died, I can't wait to toss them on the car again. Nice find on the Discount Tire, guys, didn't think to check there.

While those are nice tires, and i may partially agree to the philosophy, those tires there lack the speed rating needed for myself. I frequent the 150 mark. So while I maybe cheap, Im not unsafe, and for 26 more $ why risk it?
