Question How Easy to Install Input Shaft Bearing?

I was wondering if there's a writeup on replacing the bearings in the T56 tranny. I've searched but havn't seen one. Any help? or if someone could tell me what it takes to install new ones

First battle is getting to it.
Second battle is getting the old one out (use a puller, do not try to hydraulically hammer it out).
Third battle is the easy one, clean everything twice and drive the new one in with a bearing driver tool.

Here are a few to look at. Most guys use a socket and extension which works fine, but as you've not done one yet, I'm reluctant to offer this as advice.

is it easier to get to the input shaft bearing from the front of the trans or do i do it by the manual and tip it up and go from the back and pull everything out

My bad, I thought you meant pilot bearing (in the crank). I see you're actually replacing the bearing that supports the input shaft inside the trans. I'm not familiar with the T-56, but it doesn't look like it comes out the front like the older stuff...

The Tremec teardown pdf is downloadable. ls1tech.com/forums/manual-transmission/510788-manual-transmission-faq-look-here-first.html

The input shaft has two bearings supporting it and you should make sure they need replaced as well as re-shim when replaced. Most of the trans needs torn down to do that.
