Default Lt1 corvette questions.

Hey guys whats the deal with the lt1 corvettes?? i mean i see the z's and trans am's being popular, but wouldnt the corvettes be fun to build as well? Are they not lighter than the f bodies? If anyone has any info on what these cars can do with simple bolt on's or heads and cam let me know please!!

They are very under-rated IMO. Not as big of an aftermarket as fbody's tho.

I bought mine for 7,500.00 with 49,500 miles bone stock 3 years ago, today I've seen nice ones go for 6000.00. Not bad but a LS1 f-body can be had cheaper and is faster than mine stock even with a converter, cam and full bolt ons. Also:

IMO the F-body rides a lot better than my Corvette. The seats in the Vette are uncomfortable and the inside body squeaks will drive you crazy. As performance goes. With a small cam, 125 shot and a much smaller stall then most use in the heavier F-body, I've been 11.80's in good weather.

On the plus side, I get several thumbs up at least once a week and people seem to love the nitrous bottle out in plain view.

My buddy is running a 150 shot, cutouts, and a shift kit and clocked 11.60's in the Iowa summer.
