Default Getting a Go Pro....which mount?

I figured this would be the best place to post this. Tomorrow I plan to get the new Go Pro White Edition. I want to video my attempt at a 5 sec pass this weekend. I have seen cars that mount them on the side of the rear quarter panel. I was curious what mounting accessory you are using to do that? I was wanting to get the side view by the tire as well as an in car video. I plan to either the roll bar mount or are you guys mounting it to your helmet for in car videos?

Thanks for helping. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a bunch of extras that might not be necessary.

I was planning on getting the white addition and the suction cup. I didn't want it flying off the car going down the strip though, so thought I would check.

Look at those texas 2k videos of the gtrs and lmabos going 200mph+ with suction cup mounts. I honestly hate outside the car videos. I think the best spot is suction cupped to the inside of the window facing the gauge cluster and front of the car.

Yep, suction cup is all you need. This might not be true with the newer models, but I remember when I first bought my go pro it came in a "automotive" bundle which include the suction cup mount.

I've got a go pro (hero 2) and love it. I went 150 with the suction cup mount without any issues. there is a video of a camera falling off of a car with a suction cup mount and took video the whole way down. they didn't clean off the mounting surface well enough before driving. but I recommend the black edition and get any mount you can afford since these cameras are great for anything you do and really fun to play with. I took mine snorkeling in Guam and also when I jumped off some waterfalls there as well.

Interesting. Thanks for the input. 71 chevy, I appreciate the cheaper one but my buddy is a Go pro dealer so I can get a great deal and warranty won't be an issue.

+1 for the suction mount. My buddy has taken his bike to 180+ numerous times with it on it. OP i just picked up the hero 3 white edition and its great for the money.

I just got my GoPro over the weekend and bought the suction cup mount. Put it on the passenger side t-top and looks pretty cool.

Weather has been shitty here, but I plan to put up plenty of videos.

Not to hijack the original thread, but what software does everyone use to edit the videos? Will Windows movie maker do 1080P or 720P or neither? Thanks,
