Default Big Stall Guys Come In! (Yank Gurus)

Okay so I bought a used Yank SS3600 for a hundred bucks from this local kid. I know the history of this stall because it used to be a buddy of mines and it has about 3600 miles on it. I'm going to send it to yank to have it redone. While doing this I am wondering if I should go with the SS series or should I go with the PT series? I dont plan on running any n2o it will be just a n/a car. What exactly would be the differences between the two series and what are the characteristics of each. When I send it off to get restalled it will be a 4200 or 4400. Thanks for the help.

All I know is that the pt more of a loose converter but hits hard.. No nitrous recomended with this stall do to short shift extentions.. The SS works good with nitrous and all motor set ups..

So would the pt yield better times at the track? Or would the ss due to a better 60'? How would a person decide between the two? How would driving them on the street compare to each other? Sorry for the newbie questions big stalls are new to me.

I have the Pt4000, & love it!! it is a loose converter, top end pulls pretty hard with torquer v3 cam i have. If you never driven a stalled auto, the 4000 youll have to get some getting use to it, youll think its too much. At first I didnt like it, I drove the car more often used to driving it & love it now, glad i didnt go anything lower.

I'm not sure what I want. Thats why your helpin me!

Everything about the car is pretty much stock. I bought it not to long ago. I have some parts gathered for it but waiting for more to start to do the work. I am in touch with Martin right now about a cam. I was thinking about trying to get on the cam only leaderboard.

So if the ss et's better why are you running the pt?

because i got a deal on the pt brand new........lol.

what rear end gear & tire are you using....& how tall?
i was on a 26" with 373 gear in the 10 bolt.

nitto was a NO go for me,
i was doing 1/8 mile john force burn outs at the track & runnin mid 12s.....

went back with mt et streets & ran the 11.08 at 122 with a 1.48 60'

i really liked how the car pulled up top & still got it done in the 60' for a full weight 407rwhp car......

Good Luck with trying to get on the cam-only board!!! If you're serious and have alot of $$$ talk to Martin, he's currently #3. Weight reduction and getting every last hp is the key!! Most of the top spots are also running turbo 400s. GLWB!!

I've been talking to Martin and he thinks the cam we picked out shouldn't have a problem getting there.

I agree with you it will be a big task to get on it but if we didn't have a goal to shoot for we wouldn't be in this sport. Make it or fail I would still like to try!

Sorry I ment to say 28" tire. My fingers got ahead of my brain.

The mods that you had are pretty solid!

Why the 4.11's with a pt? Sorry I'm trying to learn here.

He just sold his cam only motor about a month ago but there was a vid on here somewhere of his 10.22 or .23 run. Ask him about it. What cam are you considering??
