Default E-Brake Does not work after bigger brakes install. Help

Hi everyone, I just bought A (07 CTS-V) and the guy I bought from bought bigger aftermarket disc brakes. So, the E-Brake doesn't work at all. He said it happen after the bigger brake install. Any thoughts on what went wrong or maybe something got screwed up. Its not a really big deal as I leave it in gear but would like to fix it. Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks, Evo

Usually when different brakes are installed, like Camaro brakes on a G8, the e-brake doesn't work. I'd say you'll just have to live without it unless you can fabricate a setup on your own.

He bought bigger brakes then 4 piston brembos and 14inch rotors for the rear?

Or did you post in the wrong section?

What bigger brakes? Still using the OE calipers?

Are you in the right forum?

Is "A (07 CTS-V)" different from a non-parenthetical '07 CTS-V?

And I think we're all curious what bigger brakes you have. Let's see some pics!

x3. I've never once said to myself "You know what this car needs, is better brakes."

We're sorry to hear about the problem with your E-brake. Have you taken by your local dealership to get checked out?

Oh dear gawd... you "customer service" reps are on this forum too?? EVERYONE knows a dealership is available for repairs and, therefore, your useless posts aren't necessary.

And did you even read the thread? He said there's non-OEM parts on the car... good luck getting a dealer to work with you.

People post on these forums for actual answers of actual experience, not to be told to go to your dealer.

I want to see these "bigger brakes"...I am not getting enough stoppage on my daily drive to work and looking to upgrade.

I can only stop in enough time when only 6 inches from the car in front of me when he slams on his brakes doing 70 mph...would like to cut it down to 3 inches from his rear bumper if I could. And I want to be able to do this at least a dozen times in a row on my way home.

My guess is that the Parking brake needs to be tightened in the rear hubs... I imagine the guy you bought it from was a noob, and used that excuse because he didn't know what the real issue was. Search before you post.... "Tightening Parking Brake"

Guys,
The guy I bought the car from said he took it to the dealer and they said that they will not check it unless it has stock rotors. I have NOT measured them so I'm just going with what the guy told me. Like I said its not really a big deal but I was just wondering if someone on here has had this problem. But never in mind did I think I would get a bunch of BS answers.
Disregard this post and Delete it. Thanks for the help.

They look stock size to me.....I would use the thread that talks about how to adjust the e-brake just like it was stock. If all else fails take it to a local shop that you trust to have them adjusted...these mechanics deal with this **** constantly and would be able to get it adjusted in a snap and not give a **** about the slotted rotors being aftermarket. .

I think you were lied to...the E-Brakes are a PITA and most likely was not installed/adjusted correctly.

How can anyone answer you when you haven't provided details of what IS on the car? ...you've only said what isn't there.

Post real details, get real detailed answers.
