Sanding calipers

Prepping calipers for painting next weekend. ive read a bunch of write ups, some sand them some dont. Should i sand them down and if so, what grit?

Im painting them with g2 paint fyi

I used a wire brush on a drill.

I used a dremel with a sanding disk.

A lot of people skip the sanding step, but for the best finish and durability, it's a must IMO. Do it once, do it right.
