Default 1997 Camaro SS #390

Hello All,

Want to post up some pictures of my latest addition. Found this on Craigslist and although I really don't need another Camaro the price was right so now it's in the stable with my '98 Sport Gold Metallic Z28.

1997 Camaro SS SLP #390. I called SLP and they gave me the number plus other info that the car was born with.
Original condition Polo Green with the tan cloth interior. Automatic with 96k on the clock. The body is very solid with no rust but does have scratches and the clear coat on the hood just started to peel. I am the 3rd owner and I was told that the car was never driven in the winter. My plan is to put it back in top condition.

Although it runs like a top it does have a couple of strange issues. It will only start on the second attempt. The fuel pump was replaced so I have no idea what could be causing the starting issue.
Also last night, check that, early this morning (3am) the alarm went off for no reason. I believe the shock sensor is defective.

Here are a few pictures.

Thanks
Rick H.

Nice car OP, my previous lt had a weird alarm sensor aswell. Whenever i finished washing the car, the alarm would go off a couple seconds after i locked it. I never got to replace the sensor since i sold it, but i was told the sensor was causing the problem.
You ight also want to check for cats in the neighborhood. They would sometimes set off an alarm on a neighbors car where i used to live.

Yes, in Wyoming County. The car has always been in western NY.

Thanks. My plans are to clean it up, replace what it needs and just drive it this year. Next year will be a repaint and whatever it takes to make it factory fresh.
