Default How to prevent meth spraying on 2-step?

M6 d1sc with meth on hobbs switch. Im worried that if I set a two-step at Let's say 5000rpm it will be spraying meth while on the two-step. What's my solution? Is there a way to cut power to meth pump when clutch pedal is pressed? Thanks for any input.

not sure what 2-step you are using, but I have a harlan 2 step from years ago that has an ouput wire so that you can wire up a nitrous system to come on as soon as the 2-step input is released

If it's an alky control setup it has a wire to hook up to stop spraying on the 2-step.

Rich AFR might cause it to be sluggish off the line. I'm sure you can find ways around it being sluggish off the line, but I would think wiring an interrupt relay would be best for the methanol pump.

Nitrous guys use an interuppt relay to interrupt their nitrous solenoid relay so it doesn't spray on the trans brake.

Thats interesting, I always heard about people wanting to cut off their meth while the 2 step is activated. Never really knew the reason behind it.

I'm sure you could find a way to pull fuel to keep the AFR optimum in the tune via the VE table or other secondary tables that pull fueling, but I would think just turning the methanol pump off would be easiest to not complicate tuning.

Not to thread jack the OP, but is it running meth while the 2 step is activated always a bad issue? Even though lets say there isnt soo much meth being pumped in?

If the AFR was optimal with the methanol spraying I see nothing wrong with it spraying. I used to spray methanol on the two step on my old car with no issues, but I did foul out all my plugs and o2 sensors once from setting the activation too low and the AFR got too rich.

I ran a relay that killed power to my nitrous solenoids while the 2step button was pushed in. I'm sure something similar can be wired up for meth...

Ouch, I see, will definately cause some slowing down off the line. Thanks for the info Martin. I learned something new today.

Yea I just figured meth spraying while on two step would be bad. So anyone have link to controller that could solve my concern?

I think its just done by wiring the 2step to the meth pump, soo whenever you activate the 2 step the pump will cut off and when the 2 step button is released the pump starts pumping meth again.

Yep that's what needs to happen I just am unsure how to do it. Anyone wire up a two step and meth pump this way?

Look up how to wire a nitrous interuppt. Replace the nitrous relay solenoid with your meth pump relay and your done.
