Default Steering wheel shims to move wheel closer to seat?

For those that have pulled the V1 steering wheel is there any extra room on the engagement gear for a few washers or shims to be put behind the wheel and still get the nut on safely with the wheel still engaged in the gear?

I am looking for the easiest way to bring the steering wheel closer to the seat. I have long legs and want the wheel to come back some so I can move the seat back and keep a close reach to the wheel.

I've never looked at my V, but I was thinking about a GTO before I got the the V. Ever sit in one? The steering wheel is ridiculously high on those cars even at the lowest position. It's a fat old lady driving position. I posted a similar question on a GTO forum and got made fun of. The V wheel position suits me fine, but I hope you find a solution that works for you.

A couple washers thickness isn't gonna bring the steering wheel back that much. Get a G8 it has a telescoping wheel that moves in/out/up/down.

Obviously it's not nonsense since you don't have a better solution.
