Default "Viper" Spec Trans / Output shaft never cut down

So ever since I've had this transmission I've always had a driveshaft vibration.

#1 I bought this from a RS Gear probably about 8 years ago.
#2 It had a "Viper" Spec upgraded output shaft installed.
#3 They never cut down the shaft length. When I asked about it they told me it couldn't be cut or it would ruin the heat treating on it and it would fold up like mashed patatoes.

After trying about everything else under the sun I've decided that my vibration must be coming from excessive yoke movement in the up and down direction? It moves quite a bit in my opinion.

So, at first I thought maybe the tail house bushing just needed to be changed. That helped however the amount of movement is still a lot more than my other car that has a standard T56 (which basically has zero movement). I've tried a few different brand bushings with no help, still a loose fit.

I was told that becuase the output shaft is so long I cannot get the yoke in far enough to fit all the way through the bushing, however, my yoke hits on the rubber portion of the rear seal before it bottoms out on the shaft. So would cutting the shaft down really help?

I don't know where to go from here... Should I try the no walk bushing? Does it fit tighter and would it help my vibrations? IDK.

Any help would be much appreciated.

That would have a 2inch outlay from a Fbody tailhousing and there's no way you'd run that for 8 years. Post pictures up with measurements or you're just guessing..

I will get pics and measurements.
I will say that the car is not my daily driver so I've really only been driving it on and off for 2. The rest of the time was spent building the car. It's probably got 6k miles on the trans in that amount of time.

Thats no good. You have to trim off the end and bevel it.

I trimmed it off, beveled it. Got the driveshaft lengthened and everything.

Still vibrates in 5th and 6th. took the tail shaft off. that gear is on tight. Might take it apart further and see if there is a bearing that's bad.

Honestly if they botched the viper shaft that bad I'd be concerned that there is another issue inside the trans. Good luck dude.
