Just to throw out a number, APE charged me $500 plus parts for a stock rebuild (I went in just wanting to do rings and bearings). Then I got the "while I'm at it" bug and ended up doing the timing set, oil pump, and cam. Heck, while you're at it, you might as well do everything too!!

Who is APE and was that the price for him taking the motor out and rebuilding it and putting it back in, plus parts? What was your total price, if you don't mind me asking? I just want my shortblock rebuilt and I don't want to take it out and take it somewhere. I want someone to take it out, rebuild it, and put it back in. I guess that makes me sound lazy but I work alot and I don't want to have to drive my Durango. GAS HOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol it's not that bad.

TSP in lubbock charges $1,000 to take it out and put it back in I just bought a brand new stock shortblock and had my heads milled and had 2 bent valves in it ended up costin $3600 but I took out the motor myself. Only thing I got is a ported ls6 pump comp springs and tsp hardened pushrods.

That doesn't seem like a bad price at all! Where did you get your shortblock? Have you had good luck with it. I wonder if that block will still have the dreaded "piston slap" issue.
