Default Can I use a stock balancer with an ATI hub?

Will a stock balancer mount to an ATI hub without any problems? I needed a replacement hub, so I purchased the ATI unit, knowing that I would also eventually be purchasing an ATI super damper. For now I had planned to just run the stock balancer. When I went to bolt it on, the center ring on the new hub is much larger than the hole on the existing hub, but the bolt pattern still matches up. There is just a gap of about a half inch.

Is anyone else running a stock balancer with an ATI hub?

Help please!

NO.

The press fit and the bolt pattern on mine are nowhere close to stock.

If all you need is the hub, get a Powerbond piece. I have one, IIRC I bought it from Golen Engine Service....

Do you need a stock 94-95 hub for your balancer? If you do, I have both. Lmk.

Well, I already spent $154 on a nice ATI hub (because summit didn't have a stock replacement instock at the time, and the stock replacement hub was almost $100 anyway) and had a custom washer machined for it. So I suppose I'll be purchasing a $360 super damper that I really don't need... FUDGE!

That's what I was thinking. I'll be revving to 7000rpm so I guess its not a bad idea anyway.

It appears that you didn't understand that the ATI hub is for the ATI balancer.....

All it advertised itself as was an ATI replacement hub. I assumed it was a factory replacement hub manufactured by ATI. It even said it had the same 3 bolt pattern as the stock hub.

In either case, I'll be receiving my new ATI balancer and hub today and returning the other hub. No harm done!

I ran two of them, use the blue locktite they call for. Also you need a + torq bit, some thing like a 40 or 45 and a 12 point box wrench.

I must say, now that I have the super damper, I'm glad I got it. The engine goes in the car on Saturday morning. Not sure if I'll have everything ready for startup though. We'll see.
