Default New Camaro with some questions

I bought my daugher a really clean 2000 Z28 we drove it home the 400 miles and I have a few questions and need some suggestions.

1. Car had 40-45psi of oil pressure all the way home is this normal, when cold it is 60-65 pounds.

2. Car ran just under 210 all the way home is this normal.

3. I smell coolant under the hood, do not see any leaks but there is coolant order coming from the radiator cap for sure is this normal (vented cap) or do I need a new one.

4. Car smell of hot oil under the hood after running it hard, not high way hard but high rpm hard. I noticed it has a hard tube coming from the Drivers side valve cover at the rear which looks like a valve this tube runs down the fender down by the fog lights and back up to radiator cover where there is a small k&N type filter mounted there. Is this a open air style pcv delete or something else. It looks like some sort of kit, i have a catch can on my 2008 srt8 300 is this sorta off the same thing only into the air, which would explain the hot oil smell when driven hard.

5. car has 18 9.5 wheel with 275-40's on rear and 265-40's on front. the fronts look way to small can i put the back tires on the front and buy 295-35's for the back.

thanks for any help

#1 - yes this is normal for LSx cars. Usually 60-65 psi cold idle, warm will run 40-45 and can run 45-50 under normal load conditions.

#2 - Yes, if the t-stat is stock, 195 degree, then that's right where it should be.

#3 - Not normal to the best of my knowledge. Might want to check the condition of the coolant. Are you running Dex-Cool? Check the radiator for any signs of it starting to break down.

I'd also suggest checking on a new radiator cap. Just pick up a new ACDelco one.

#4 - I believe you're explaining the AIR hose/pump. Just emissions stuff and shouldn't have anything to do with smelling oil. The factory setup has the hose going into the air intake lid; I presume you've got an aftermarket lid without the provision to hook up the AIR hose so most people put a small breather on the end.

#5 - Stock size all the way around is 245/50/16 for the Z28. Going to 17" most people stick with 275/40/17 (factory SS size). You can run 315/35/17 on the rears without problems; however, different wheel offsets may require hammering-in the inner fender. Nonetheless, 40 series on an 18" wheel is throwing off the speedo.

Thanks guys, the new radiator cap fixed the coolant smell. I actually have 265-35-18's up front they are to short for our roads I think i will just buy 2 265-40-18's for the front. I cant find that hot oil smell under the hood when I run the car hard i see some slight oil seepage around the tubes that run by the throttle body. thanks again

Those tubes are for the PCV system. Pretty common for them to dry rot and crack. You probably have a vacuum leak as well. You can either replace them or do the 2004 LS6 PCV conversion. Check out my build thread for info on that.
