Default LR4 4.8l twinturbo 1300hp

Hello.

I've just bought a engine.
Going to use stock crank, heads and block.

Someone who have ideas for the shortblock?

Thanks

Try chinese parts. I hear they're good for 2000hp.

Thanks man!

My LT1-92 on stock block, "stock" ported heads, valves etc, stock intake, eagle crank, 383cui, h-beem, je pistons. It made 785whp 1137wnm @ 1.15kg of boost on pumpgas. BW475 did the trick.

So now I'm going to shoot for the stars and maybe land on the moon.

Well you all have seen the hot rod magazine "big Bang theory" article?
1204hp on stock shortblock exept larger ring gap and arp.

So I was thinking, with custom pistons, carrillo connection rods, some arp bolts, msd ignition, custom intake, twin precision 67mm or maybe bw efr turbos, large valves, great head job, custom cam, E85, and a fine tune and a LOT of boost it might going to be a mean engine at only 290cui.

Many unbelivers out there.. So I just going to find out if it's possible.

Slap a couple turbos on there, use good fuel like E85 or race gas and a good tuner, crank it up till it pops, repalce with another, and dial it back a tick. Report back when you get it on the dyno or track.

^that's what I would go with- tried and true.

Slap it on, crank it up, and when it pops, put another 4.8 in an dial it back 1%.

Seen it... doin it... kinda. You're taking it one step further by swapping in new pistons and rods and custom intake.

I'm going off their formula... kinda, 4.8 with 228 cam, twin turbo, ported heads with larger valves, chinese head studs. But I'm not shooting for 1300... yet... only 750-800. (Also, I'm on 91 Octane, so... ). I figure if they can do 1200, I can be happy and get to 800 safely.

Hope to hear how yours turns out.

I think the issue you'll have at that hp is keeping the heads down and not leaking. I'm using an LQ9 with same power goal but using twin 72mm turbos to keep the boost down. Thick deck TFS heads with LS9 gaskets, and i know i'll have trouble with keeping the coolant inside the motor.

Cylinder pressure is what will lift a head, irrelevant of boost psi. Your theory of using bigger turbo to keep the heads down at a given hp level is incorrect.

No, the LR4 is a 4.8L. You're thinking LM4, Aluminum 5.3L
