It'd be just my luck I guess. Unmodified 2001 SS, 57k, I myself have not had it over 4000rpm yet. Usually runs between 185 and 200 for temp. On the way home I glanced at the aftermarket gauge and it was at 220, I cranked the heat right away and it went to 200 again, but it creaped back up as soon as I shut it off. Its in the 40s and I was doing 65-70, low rpm high flow thru the radiator.

I'll check the oil and coolant tomorrow am. CRAP

More than likely you either are low on coolant, throttle body is sticking, or you have a fan not kicking on.
