Default What timing chain to go with???

Getting ready for a cam swap on my 99SS what timing chain and sprocket should I go with? the best bang for the buck? Also should I go with an ported ls6 oil pump?...cam swap gasket kit and push rod? am I missing anything else?

Ls2 chain, and either the ported ls6 or a Melling pump.

The ls2 chain is much thicker than the ls1 chain. The double roller isn't needed for your goals. You can also reuse the cam and crank gear with the ls2 chain, save some money.

That gasket kit will work but you'll need to buy a crank pulley bolt. They are torque to yeild bolts that are one time use. Here is a kit that has every thing you need...

I'm curious as to how long it will take you to do it. On my previous daily driver 1994 Firebird my dealership quoted me at 9 hours of labor to replace it. Of course , that was with the 3.4L V6 engine.

Should i do a double roller on my 408? Im shooting for 500whp. I dont want to ever have to worry about it again. Any thoughts?

Awesome! Thanks imma go with the double roller because I plan on doing boost later. Would that trick flow be a good set up too go with oppose too the slp double roller? The slp is 185$ and the trickflow is 129$?
