Default Torque converter hub depth into crankshaft?

How far should the torque converter hub be engaged into the cavity in the back of the crankshaft?

2007 L92 engine, FTI 4L80E/4L85E converter built with 4L60E type cover and hub, New 4L85E tranny from GM Performance parts, TCI 399753 flexplate.

Bolting the converter to the flexplate and taking rough measurements, looks like the hub will protrude into the cavity about .400". That's not taking into account if I need to put any shims once the converter is placed into the tranny to get the proper pump depth.

Are there any general rules of thumb to go by for this depth of the hub?

Anyone have any knowledge about this distance? I realize you don't want the converter hub to bottom out against the crankshaft, but how much depth is acceptable?

If I have to shim between the converter about 1/8" or so, that will leave approximately .275" of hub into the crank cavity. Just curious if that's sufficient?

I think you are good. You will get a little flex in and out of the pilot, but with over a 1/4" of engagement you are fine.
