Default Anyone want to spec a cam for my build?

Build is a LSX block, 4.125 bore with 4" stroke- 427.
Heads are Mass Motorsports LS3 Large Bore heads with 6 bolts
Compression is 11:1
Running a GT-88
Boost is what ever the turbo will make on it.
Fuel is 100% Methanol
It is fuel injected and controled with a BS3. Will buy what ever injector I need but right now I have a set of 120#, a set of 220#, and a set of Mike Moran 500# injectors, want to use one of the two latter sets.
Intake is the Holley High Ram.
4l80E with transbrake right now, might switch to a Glyde latter.
Stall is a Circle D billet, currently set around 4400 but I can send it back to be set up to what ever it needs to be.
Gears are currently 3.7 but might switch them to fit the car.
Car is a 2002 WS6, gutted but probably did not loose much weight, with cage and everything else put in it.
Car is set up with a 2 step and it has a Davis Bump box.
Elevation is 3200 feet.
Looking for dragstrip cam, and car cannot legally go faster then 8.5 in the quarter with current cage design.

Did I leave anything out?

The old build should done it. I spent so much time building the new car after the wreck I have yet to run it again. I did change a few things to help it get there. The last build is limited do to the L76 heads. Afraid to really put them to the test when everyone has pretty much proven they will blow head gaskets.

I am bored with it and ready to take it to the next level. Last build was a street car build. This one will be race only build. It will have tags on the car, just so I can putt it over to Hooters and get some pics of it with the girls. Other then that it is a trailer queen now and only for the track.

Planing to take the old engine apart and give the block and heads to my son. He can put his bottom end in it with an 11:1 piston set with a mild cam and make a reliable 500hp.

I will be using all of the rest of the stuff from the old engine for this new build.

is this the Budget Gt88?

If so you are severly under turbined.

It would affect how id cam the motor.

Given how it is now.... 239/237 116+5.

I think you should look into the bw s588, gt5588 or maybe a promod 88 with those cubes. That little 94 or 92mm turbine is going to choke quick on that setup.

I did not ask you to spec a turbo. Stay on subject which is the cam, or do not post.

A cam can only crutch so much, I was trying to help prevent future problems and frustration as I know you've had many. Sorry for trying to help, good luck with your project.

Well have fun with your mismatched combination then.

Cam guys cant make up for a hodge podge'd and mismatched combination.

The motor is too big for the turbo for a street car application, Much less a full blown race car on methanol.

Youve made the same mistake alot of people make. You've picked one piece from here and one piece from there without a clear picture of the system as whole and how each part interacts with the other.

Good luck to ya. Hope you find someone that can make it work.

Thanks for the turbo advice. But the fact is the turbo is what it is and I am not ready or interested in changing it as of yet. After the new engine is built and I see what the car does I will address any issue with the turbo.

I cannot keep changing things every time or else it will never get back on the track. Also, the car CANNOT run faster then an 8.5 in the quarter because of what the cage is spec'ed for.

The current engine does not utilize the full potential of this turbo because of the L92 head. It needs stronger heads.

Sorry to ruffle everyone's feathers, but every time someone asks a specific question on this forum half the replies have nothing to do with the original question. I would have responded differently if a response to the cam question was first given before other suggestions were made.

We can discuss other possible suggestions after the original question was answered.

Still, I will take your turbo advise into account and even though I sounded sh!tty I do value ya'lls input. I am sure you understand my frustration with the way this forum has turned into a hazing zone from time to time.

In the end I bet this build will not happen. I do not want to change everything in the engine bay. I might just buy the Mass Motorsports LS3 Medium bore heads and run the boost on up. Stay with race fuel and current compression.

Thanks again.
