Default Compression and Boost?

Im am a bit of a newbie when it comes to boost. From what I hear forced induction cars seem to do "better" with low compression. But why dont more people run high compression boost LSX motors? Is it because the need of race gas or what? Hoping someone could shed some light on the topic....

High compression and boost causes detonation issues. You can get away with it with higher octane, but most people don't have E85 readily available in their area, and don't want to drive around on the street with expensive race gas or treated pump gas.
