Default For those that have done an LTX to LSX swap, some questions.

I am contemplating this for the future sometime, but I have some questions for those that have done it. Will I be able to keep my air conditioning, that would be a deal breaker for me. Also, with the wiring harness swap, is the ABS still functional? Also, are all the other safety features, such as air bag still functional?

Thanks!

They say its cheaper to just sell your lt1 car and buy a ls car for the money youll have in the swap

It probably would be, but my LT1 is too nice for that...besides, I like the LT1's style the best.

I haven't done the swap personally but I have looked into it. If you're patient the swap can be done a lot cheaper than some say it can. For instance, when I do mine I plan to use the used LS K member and steering rack I got off craigslist for $75 rather than buy a tubular. I can't say for certain but I haven't found a thread yet that mentioned whether you can or can't fit A/C with an LS swap. In my case my A/C died this past summer so no real loss for me.

i would imagine you would get a lot more answer in the conversion sub forum on here. But i believe if you bought all the ac componnets for an ls1 f body you would be able to do it. I think the compressor and such are located in a different spot on ls f bodys
