Default What is my next mod?

Well I am at a stop and not sure what to do next. Car has LT's, ORY, Borla CB, nd slp lid. What should I do next? is a p&p TB worth it? I am open to suggestions. I prefer bolt ons at the moment since I am a college student and this is my only car. Thanks

I would recommend gears since that can be done within a day and possibly a cam; cams can also be done within a day if you have all the correct tools when you go to do it.

Well I dont see any sense in spending money on the rear end if it will be replaced eventually.

Also a cam would require a bigger stall which will set me back much more than I want to spend right now lol

I do not recommend either of these.

What is your budget for this next "step" in modding?

P/P TB will add throttle response and maybe a few hp. As lemons said I wouldn't gear a stock stalled auto. Your next mod should be a stall/tires

College student and those mods? Maybe a nice stall and that's it. Leave it like it is till you get a job where you can afford good parts then start by replacing the 10 bolt and work your way up.

ls6 intake if you don't already have one, p&p tb is a good choice too.

You probably won't like my opinion...

I usually always say a converter... But a converter needs tires... Which you can't afford.

I would start building the car the correct way... Start getting your suspension set up. Set of LCA/panhard/torque arm/shocks/etc... You will be very thankful once you start throwing power at it.
After that... If you still are in the same spot, get your fuel knocked out.

By that point you hopefully will be in a spot to throw some power at it.

Add parts that make the car more reliable and able to handle the power.. Don't throw more power at a car you need reliable with stock parts supporting it.

If money is tight a ported/polished TB and some sort of ram air (like a SSRA) would be fairly cheap. If you can spend more a good stall and tires would do much better

IMO I wouldn't put in a stall without getting the tranny built. I'd go with what HCI200SS said and get a SSRA. Power increase is very noticeable and I just loved how the nose of my car lifted when I first installed it.

Free mods if you haven't already done them such as bottom of the air box being cut out & trimming the EGR tube if you have one. Suspension next. Lower control arms & relocation brackets help. Ported TB with the back stop mod helps some. Stall & trans cooler is a BIG help on an auto car. Trans go shift kit is a good mod too.

Put a stall in it. It'll really wake the car up. A lot. I have tires on the way and then a stall.

Founders suspension $208 for on car adjustable PHB and LCA also relocation brackets of your car is lowered($50). If it isn't then lowering it is always a option (Under300). If you have over 50k miles on your shocks i would recommend some competition engineering shocks ($45 each). If you are looking for better track times go to a local swap meet and find some used slicks and get some tire prep. after you have that i would get a cam and stall and the same time.

this. a converter is the single best mod to do to an a4. I just recently got a decent tire on my car (toyo tq drag radial) and its great to be able to use the converter without just blowing the tires off now. my car is a basic bolt on car and i still have fun every time i drive it.
