Default Mobil 1 Full Syn 5W-30 Vs. 10W-30

I live in Illinois, and only drive my 2001 Z28 in the summer months. Currently I've been using Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5W-30 as per the manual. Lately though, I've been thinking that this may be a little too thin of an oil to be using for summer driving only. So, I've been wondering if switching to Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10W-30 would be better. Which one of the two would you guys recommend?

M1 5w-30 @ 10W-30 are actually about the same at full operating temp. 9.8 cst @ 10.0 cst. The only real difference between the two is at cold temps where the 5W-30 will be thinner and crank better than the 10W-30. Not something you have to sorry about if you only drive in the summers. If you are going to stick with Mobil 1 I would recommend the 0W-40 or the new 5W-40 Mobil1 about to hit the shelves. These two are far better suited for hot summer driving.
