About to order a stall and was wondering if i should go between 4000-4500. Cam and bolt on ls6. Rev limiter around 6800-7000. Gonna be a weekend warrior and a Lil drag strip. Will have lockup. How big should i go? 3.42 gears

4000 will work but I'm no expert. A cam that big I'd have more gear than 3.42

I agree with mjs1020. I would run more gear. What type of converter are you looking at? Yank's SS PT series? This is the same situation I just went through. I ended up going with a PT4200 with a pretty big bump stick. The PT has shorter shift extensions compared to the SS. This is why they say not to run n20 with the PT series. Give us a little more info.

Why more gear with the cam? The cam drives amazing. I went to 3.42 from 4.10 for drivability issues. I had to run a 28" tire to make it through the 1/4

^Because big cams usually suffer loss of low end torque and the lower gears +stall converter will get u quicker into the power band.

It has a very broad power band. I could literally put it in 6th gear and go like 40mph at like 1200rpm and it didn't surge at all.

I'd go PT4000 all day with that cam.
