Default Which Rear Main Seal?

I am going to be assembling my new 385 this weekend and am about to order the miscellaneous parts I need. There appear to be many 1-piece SBC part#'s and 2 Felpro LT1 specific styles. Which one is the best to get?

Go to any parts store an get a stock RMS kit. Its a 1 piece seal. Ive always had good luck with felpro.

I bought one for a 96-98 vortec 5.7 just cuz it has an extra piece that presses against the flywheel for added sealing. Purely opinion really whether it does better or not. So far so good.

There are 2 Fel-Pro ones, one with PTFE (teflon) and one without. I read that the one with PTFE is the better one, so that's what I got. Fit like a glove.

Agree.

The Teflon seal is the "second generation" seal. That's what's in my '96 Z-28 now, after the original seal started leaking (don't they all???)......
