Default 4l60e with 3600 stall need advice asap!!!

Okay guys here's the deal the car drives fine on stock rims and street tires shifts great stays in lock up, now when I put my 15" race stars with 275 radials back on after the winter the car keeps popping out of lock up in over drive. Here's the kicker I ran those same rims last year with same 275s and never had an issue so why is it action up now? The car has always had a vibration in the drivetrain but has always shifted hard and never had an issue. I am planning on changing the trans filter and all new fluid should this take care of it ?

Use a scanner to check for codes. The larger diameter tires is likely causing the converter to slip a bit more and the PCM is detecting that as a problem and disabling the lockup. It might be a code 1870, but others are possible too.

Did you have the PCM tuned after install the high-stall converter. If not, this is why it needs to be done.

I suspect you were just on the edge of getting a code. Now with colder weather the converter might be slipping 1% more and triggering the code. Many auto stores will perform a free code check in their parking lot. Start there.

There is also another very similar current thread:
