Headed to the track tonight for the first time. Hopefully it will be a good night and get some good passes in.

Sounds like u had a better first time at the track than i did. My first track night i threw two rods and a piston out the side of my block driving home. The car was stock.

12.5 on a bad track sounds good!! Car must not be stock, what mods?? The next time out remove ANY excess weight (inculding spare and jack), run your gas down to 1/4 tank, and shallow stage for more rollout. With good traction and those tips you should drop 3 or 4 tenths, maybe hit 11s if everything is right!! Good Luck and keep us posted!! Larry

Car has a torquer v2 cam, headers, yank 3600 it was on quick time pros stock wheels up front I'm not sure of the weight of the car though. The wheels I had were still rubbing my calipers still got some grinding to do.

The 2nd pass I made the car wouldn't shift so I'm not sure what went wrong

its been mentionedon here a lot but race in OD not D and overfill trans slightly so it cant suck the pan dry and shifting will improve

was your issue hanging in 2nd and tripping the limiter instead of completing the 2/3 shift?

Yeah I believe that's what happened. So are you saying I should go 1st 2nd then OD and just skip D

No, he means just put the shifter in OD instead of D. The trans will shift through all the gears normally but you'll cross the finishline before it hits OD.

^ Cra-Z Larry has my back lol yes thats what I meant run it in od , its been specified in other threads with a technical explanation as to why putting it in d uses more fluid capacity , extra apply being used or something along those lines....

they are correct about running in OD and adding trans fluid.bring a tire gauge and a air tank with ,try different tire pressures .
