Default Pro Comp Ebay Head Studs -- Warning

After a ton of back and forth reading on "ebay" head studs I called Heather and Shaun who sells a set of head studs on ebay. He has two kits listed one with three bolt style and one with two bolts. The username who sells this kit is abad71camaro

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-Cylinder-Head-Stud-Kit-4-8L-5-7L-6-0l-l92-Extreme-Studs-/190822546473?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6de8fc29&vxp=mtr
I asked him how I could tell the difference on which set I needed and he said it is totally dependent on which heads I have. He was very rude and not helpful in aiding me to find what I needed obviously because he has no idea.

Now after doing my own research I have found that the heads don't matter but the year of the block is what determines which kit you need. I called the other vendor of head studs that I found on ebay also. They were being sold by Alper Motorsports. I called him and he was super helpful and clearly knew more about the LS platforms then his competition.

They can be found here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-LS6-Head-Studs-1999-2003-Some-2004-/221209948222?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338123f03e&vxp=mtr
Now after all of this I am still new to the LS platform. I am by no means an expert, but that is why I don't sell head studs on ebay. I just thought I would throw this information out so that hopefully it saves someone a little bit of time.

Yeah dealt with the abad71 guy. He has some nice prices, but was quite rude and not very helpful in communications.

Thumbs up

I've used all 3 sellers mentioned so far and had no issues at all. $1000's from abad71camaro, But not much communication to any of them. Ordered the stuff and it was all good.

Yes partially that, and if anyone is new to this stuff like me to warn them that they have no clue what they are selling and avoid the seller... It was a helpful post in my opinion, sorry it seems you don't see it that way.

dealt with abad71camaro many times. He was great to deal with. I guess he has a low tolerance for idiocracy, lol.

Man, people have some nerve. The guy is selling head studs on ebay and thinks that the heads are the determining factor for which set you need and you make accusations that I'm the idiot?

I guess I shouldn't expect less from some people.

As with many companies, you never have a problem with them until you have a problem, lol. Their response at that time is the real test of their customer service. That being said, he does have some great prices and products seem good as well.

As for knowledge of the seller or lack there of, I would hazard to guess that most sellers on ebay have very little knowledge of the products they sell. They are just flipping parts!

I cam to this tread thinking it would tell me if the studs were any good. What I found was a bunch of jibberish.

Are they any good?

Bowtie the studs are getting more positive reviews than negative. That being said this thread was started to inform people so they could make a decision for a product based on customer service.

That is very important to me.

To me that is the point of these forums!!!! I'm sorry to those whose time I've wasted reading something that may be jibberish or idiotic.

I think you are getting grief from your title. Maybe re-title the thread "Warning ... poor customer service but good product and good price". That is far more accurate, just saying.
