Default First time LS1 owner, 2000 T/A

Hello, All. Just bought my First LS1 powered 2000 T/A today, 6-speed, T-Top, 62k miles pewter in color. Love it so far! It's bone stock, no lid, no exahust, nothing.

The first think I'll start with is exhaust, and maybe the SLP lid, I'm just not sure which route to go with exhaust wise, I like the idea of true duals, but I'm on a tight budget being in the Military. After a year or two I plan doing a H/C/I build.

First question is, My turbo Chevy Cruze I had tuned by Vince from trifecta performance, and he claims to support LS1 powered cars, has anyone had a trifecta tune on their LS1 T/A, Camaro, etc.. I am VERY happy with the trifecta tune on my Cruze, it had MAJOR gains. around 54 more ft. lbs of torque.. 35 HP gain.. And since I already have the OBD2 EZ-Flash cable, and the trifecta tuning software my cheapest way of a mail-order tune would be through Trifecta, as all I'd need is a just a "tune" sent

I've never heard of Trifecta doing any LS1 applications on here. For mail order Frost is the de facto standard for our cars.

Go to ls1sounds.com or Youtube and just search different exhaust options. It's hard to give a exhaust recommendation because everybody likes different sounds. If you plan on doing h/c/i later then save for a dyno tune as well. I also have not heard of anything on hear about Trifecta tuning on here.

I also just bought a 2002 Pewter Trans Am 6sp. Only had 42,000 miles on it. Came with a Magnaflow exhaust. Sounds great. But not as good as this; courtesy Lingenfelter:

I want this sound! It scares me everytime I watch-in a good way.

Thunder Racing a no go? How well do people like Random Techs exhaust system? My Magna flow has a nice rumble to it, but not this nasty.

I would also not purchase from TR from what I have heard.

I have contacted RT directly and there were no issues, but I won't buy a catback without hearing some first hand experience and RT is hard to find

Never going to purchase nor ever did from Thunder Racing.

NoJoy i love you, i've been searching for this video a long long time finally found it ! love it !

@OP why would you bother tuning the car now considering that you'll do some changes, i would get done with what i'm doing then tune the car and go Frost.

lol.... Your magnaflow catback is fine, you're not going to get that kind of sound without a healthy cam (and long tube headers).
Try a search.

Hey that vids not working-anyway I plan on having Lingenfelter do some cam work for my car in the future. I also plan on getting PaceSetter longtube; I will leave my Magnaflow catback alone for now. I just wanted to replicate the exhaust sound of the Random Tech vid. If I can come close with the exhaust I already have plus the above, then I will be happy.
Thx for the links!
