Default SLP Performance Parts sold

Got this news from Tick

SLP Performance Has Been Sold.
...Unfortunately, this could be your last chance to order any SLP goodies!

Last week, SLP Performance Parts was sold to an industry giant and unfortunately, many jobs are being lost and the production, price and availability of every part that SLP manufactures will be up in the air after May. This means that you may no longer be able to order some of your favorite go-fast goodies that SLP became famous for offering.

Keep in mind that SLP Performance Parts is not the same as SLP Engineering which went away a decade ago. I state this because perhaps Hamburger will still have SLP Specialty Vehicles... www.slpcars.com

And then they sent out another email right after...

After talking with some of the representatives from the company that now owns SLP today, we've been assured that the SLP brand will live on, and that the changeover should be seamless as far as parts ordering and delivery are concerned!
The new company has big plans for the SLP Brand and exciting new changes are on the horizon. Here at Tick Performance, we've been retailers for SLP for years and we're happy to hear that we'll be able to continue to sell the SLP brand for years to come!

Call us or SLP directly for more information/clarification regarding the entire situation!

Sad news, and if this company that bought them plans to keep everything in tact, hopefully job loss will be at a minimum.

Exactly which company bought them? Because that's extremely important to the point of this piece of news.

Knowing Roush is the owner now will probably dramatically change my decision on buying from SLP. I've always been a fan of SLP, but not Roush. I swear I have every SLP Buick GSX part you ever made for my Regal and my CETA has the full SLP intake/exhaust as well.

Have you had experience with Roush products? I haven't, I'm just curious

Roush has the same single problem SLP has always had... overly expensive products. Roush simply has more capital, evidently. Roush has a massively larger and more successful racing pedigree too, which is obviously helpful.

Having gone through some buyouts and mergers in the medical equipment industry, this seems like a good fit for the performance parts industry, with primarily Ford and GM vendors now under 1 corporate roof and should compete with some of the bigger houses. I'm happy for SLP ownership, I've bought from them over the years and hopefully they made a small fortune, and hopefully their employees will receive something.
