Those things run 9's? That seems pretty good based on the LT1 times you see in this forum, but did they say they cost $80+K?

They worry about hundredths and the cars are a bigger part of the ET number than the engine. Some of them use a spintron to design a valvetrain that lofts the valve for lift beyond what the cam and rockers would otherwise offer.
There is a LOT of money and even more effort put into those cars, heck I believe GIZMO once told us he spends more blueprinting heads than we spend on porting................

Those 427"s are fast. I have been working on the tuning for Patterson Racing's COPO, Todd pushed in neutral first pass at the Jegs Sports Nationals a few weeks ago, it went 9.33, which is 1.27 under the NHRA index. Testing here at Tulsa in 1500' air it was blowing the tires off (nice track, wish they could prep it) it was going low 9.50s, actually blue smoke off the tires, not one pass without blipping the throttle to try to hook it. Ran almost 146 MPH every pass. It would be an 8 second car at Atco in the fall.
Many of the blower cars are pushing head gaskets out, as LS1s do when you lean on a boosted one. :-)
I believe they may have dropped the blower versions.
Those are very nice cars. Friend of mine is getting a red one with a 427" in it, along with a 396" & 350" in crates.

The sad thing about the boosted cars is that they have the blocks with the 6-bolt capability, but the heads are only 4-bolt, and it's not legal to upgrade. Check the block and you'll see the unused bolt holes below the heads:
