Default First time out with nitrous on new combo 5.73@122

I have been enjoying driving the car around and have only made two motor hits with the best being a 6.751@107.3 10.38@135.9 with a 1.68 60'. This was on pump gas and through the glide, chance converter, 3:73, and old mickey 275/60/15's. We went to Holly springs the weekend before last to get some data on nitrous. First pass it damaged the stock case glide and started leaking fluid out around the input shaft. Monday I called around and went with a TCI Pro X glide, its way more than I need but they had it in stock and I like over kill on the driveline. We made a short hit out in front of the shop with fresh plugs, killed it and coasted in and pulled the plugs. At the track we decided to run c116 in the tank and fuel cell since we only had a few runs before qualifying. I wanted to see how much nitrous we needed to get the converter to open up.

100 shot (41/31 @10psi) (41/31 @8.5 psi)
1st run 2nd
60' - 1.345 1.358
1/8 - 6.048@115.06 5.94@116.73

I was suprised we picked up that much in the 60' as the converter felt so tight. The second run we leaned it out a little. Next up was first round qualifying and we went up to (48/33 @9psi) Its leaving better now and picking the tires up about 12", it needs more suspension adjustment as its just plopping the front back down.

1st 2nd
60' - 1.322 1.328
1/8 - 5.828@119.33 5.839@119.08

52nx jet / not sure on the fuel
3rd
60' - 1.303
1/8 - 120.68

57/44 @9psi
4th 1st elim - lost
60' - 1.418 1.323
1/8' - 6.128@117.71 5.735@122.38

The 4th qual was a big wheel stand. We were running 1/8 tank of fuel in the stock tank and on the wheel stand the pump got uncovered and the car came slamming down. Bent both headers out to the frame rails, smashed the bottom of the driver side 2 runners about 30%, and pushed cylinder 7 header runner into the steering shaft and put a hole in it. Wasnt as bad as it could have been. If you want to see the wheelie go to 42:30 in the Rd 4 Qualifying video I think its the 6th down.

Nice man! Btw saw your post on yb, we run that plate and at 52/28 we were at 7.5psi and it was still pretty rich just as a reference. The next plan was to go to 57/28 at 7.5 and start from there. also -9 plug like everyone else was saying

goodluck
