LS1 lid and hood choice.
Now that my car is done and my lid swap is complete I'm not completely happy with how tight it is with my SS hood. I'm going to look at picking a VFN Sunoco bolt on hood later this summer. What I'm curious of is, has anyone ran that hood, or what other cowl hoods are y'all using that don't require trimming, or very minimal trimming?

The lid is well worth it honestly, I was looking at the 2.5 cowl hood but was not sure on clearance. Plus after seeing the VFN hood, I know what I want lol. I'll post a pic of how mine is trimmed and you should be able to tell if yours will work.

seen that thread no one really mentioned if the harwood worked, other then the 4 inch hood which i do not have ahah, seems a lot of these hoods need to be trimmed or the rad support which im not about especially since there is no bracing on the harwood hood anyways

The one regular Sunoco hood from VFN can be ordered to fit without trimming. I just ordered mine that way. If you call and talk to Jean about mine or Butch's hood she will be able to tell you the same. Butch had them change the mold a little on the wide version and I had them do it on the regular version. Both of which were the bolt in style.

I should not I also cut my core support to set the filter down in, without the filter basket. I need to make brackets to hold the radiator just to be safe, but it does not move at all as it is.
