Default Need help getting PCM to connect

My old tuning laptop crashed and it used a serial cable instead of USB, so I ordered a USB adapter from tunercats and redownloaded tunercats and datamaster on my new laptop. I installed the USB drivers and got the comm port set on 2. When I go to log the car or read my tune, it says no communication with the PCM. I never had a single problem with the old setup. Fuses are all good. Need suggestions.

Are you sure that COM2 is the correct port? Sometimes when you change hardware i.e. from serial to a USB converter it installs a new COM port.

I moved it to comm port 2, just moved it to comm port 1 and the same results. I have moved the USB cable to all 4 different slots on the laptop, no change either.

Try reinstalling your drivers for the USB cable. also, look to see if there are any driver updates available.
