Default Abs inop

Hey guys I have done some browsing on this issue and still can't find anyone with the same problem. Yesterday, under a full throttle launch it seemed to me that my brakes had locked completely during the 1-2 shift. It sounded like a bomb went off under the car. Pulled over and saw no leaks and had to limp it home, while under throttle the car continued to break hard and release all the way home. I have done some reading that I could have a bad abs sensor, but what would cause them to be applied at WOT? Could it just be bad luck or something else? I have not hooked up a cpu to the car yet, but any trouble shooting would most definitely help!!!

Did the brakes lock up? What you describe sounds like a severe case of wheel hop which may of damaged the rear. Once the INOP light is triggered the ABS system is inoperable. I'd pull the cover.

Sounded like a bad case of wheel hop, on the way home I didn't have any humming or grinding going on that I could hear. However I couldn't go above 30 bc the brakes kept kicking on and off....

So it jerks around the whole time you're driving over 30mph?

I wouldn't say jerk bad but the brakes kept going on and off and I wasn't going to push my luck going over 30. The initial lock up was the biggest jerk. It's almost like controlled braking and the releasing.

If the diff internals are damaged without cracking the case, could be gears are shifting around and clashing causing the "braking" you feel. I've had something similar happen in an ex-friends toyota cressida (looks like a camry but has the RWD drivetrain from the supra) but he blew the diff from lack of oil doing 80 all day and it cracked the housing in a few places. it drove...somewhat. sometimes the pinion engaged the ring, sometimes they slipped past eachother, sometimes they jammed up.

ABS inop thing could be from metal shavings obscuring the tone wheel.

Axles trying to walk out and the caliper is the only thing keeping it in? Causing the brake feel?
