You can get them from any machine shop so if you end up mauling it a replacement isn't far away.

I've always had good luck using a hammer and punch.

Yeah, if you just tap up and under the front of it, it should lift right out.

I can't get under it. It got mangled from the reluctor wobbling.
Would it hurt the crank if I heated the crank with a torch or a heat gun?

Then tap it down on one end. The other should pop up because of the half moon shape.

^^^ He is right on. I had a pain in the tail trying to get mine out. Then I tried a hammer with a long punch and started taping on the key end and she came right out.

I got everything back together now having a problem with the crank is turning tight I lined up the dots on the timing set with equal slack on each side.

Well you are fighting 200psi of compression. The engine isn't supposed to turn freely you know. I am going to assume you didn't do something silly like leave the car in gear (A4 or M6?).

No there is a big difference from when I was removing the crank hub I had to chain the puller to stop it from spinning. Now I was able to tighten the damper bolts with some force and didn't feel like the last time when I changed the opti. The crank spun easier. a4
