Did the ls6 intake last night
It is night and day on my car! I am so happy! YAY!
I did notice that my head ports were covered with a lot of oil, would this be because of the PCV system? Would a catch can help this a lot? I know I am burning oil now just by checking the dipstick, I am about 1qt low after 3k miles.
Thanks

As for tips, don't bother buying the front coolant pipe or the rear plugs. Save your $40! I took my stock coolant x pipe off and cut the front right after it merges, then used some pliers to pinch it. Got some solder and a blow torch and soldered it shut, works perfect (or you could get it welded at a local exhaust shop) Make sure you take the o-rings off the pipes before heating them up. Did that for the rear too. I also tested them by using an air hose (I am lucky my buddy has air tools )
Another tip is mechanics gloves
Also, there are little plastic nubs the stick down from the cowl that hold the rubber seal, remove those or your arms/hands will be cut up like mine.
And before you start the job, go rent a torque wrench from murrays that does inch lbs.
Other than that it's a very easy job, we could have finished within 3hours if we really wanted to

Welp, before the LT's, cutout, and ls6, I did 345rwhp with just lid, cam, heads. I was choking the engine pretty bad. The ls6 will probably net me 30rwhp with my other mods I will know what Lt's, orp, cutout, and ls6 intake net me on the 29th when I have a tune.
Also, the dyno number was on a mustang dyno...

LS6 Valley cover mod.
Has anyone tried the LS6 valley cover mod? Pretty cheap ($60.00) and vents the crankcase from the lifter valley instead of valve cover. Since you have the intake manifold off already. It's supposed to help the oil consumption. Or maybe try one of the Truck "Fixed orifice" PCV,s. 12572717 Dealer item-$3.61
Some minor block grinding required.
There is probably a technical article on it somewhere on this site.

I just recently did an LS6 intake and Jantzer TB on my cam & header car. It made a BIG difference in the car. I can't wait to see the dyno results but have to wait as my car is in the body shop. My car was also running rich before and now seems to be about right. I would not be surpirised if I gained more than 10 hp with the swap, probably more the way it feels.
