Default Katech 500&481ci billet blocks moved to the clearance section & price cut in half!

We have moved our 500ci billet blocks to the clearance section of our website and slashed the price in half. These are now priced way under cost and are only available while supplies last. These are left-over stock from the Corvette C6RS program's billet 500ci engine.

We are also putting liners in several of them which makes them capable of up to 481ci.

When they're gone, they're gone!

Wow, who is your engine supplier that is requiring you to wait so long?

Yes...

Jason, can you speak to some of the design differences/benefits of these blocks over other available options?

Thanks

I'm just curious, how much taller is the block?

Vertically, measured from the top of the oil pan to the valley. Not deck height wise.

I've heard that "these" DART billet blocks are ideal for racing, but for street use on a driver, they aren't good and may have problems with cooling due to the water jackets being in a different location in the block. Also, why not a 6-bolt block?

Billet blocks are very strong. Tom Kempf is running something very similar in his car which is about 2500-3000hp. Although, his doesn't have water jackets and I don't know what the cylinder head bolt configuration is. It's got to be 6-bolt and bigger studs. I realize that if you want something over 1000hp you're going to want an RHS block with 6-bolt heads, but there are some guys out there building sub-1000hp engines that just want the cool factor of a billet block and at half the price of what it originally was it puts it more within reach.

About 1/2"

No, sorry.

Yes, it's an adaptation of the Dart block. We took the Dart block and made 32 design changes for the C6RS program. One of those changes was raising the cam for the 4.500" stroke. It's in the same location as the RHS block.

Yes, I know. It would be awesome if these were 6-bolt blocks but they were originally bought for the C6RS program which was 600hp and only needed 4-bolt.

There are about a dozen C6RS street cars running around with these blocks and there was never once a cooling issue. We've also ran some in 700 and 800hp race engines.
