Default sn95 and/or fox fuel system options

I took the tank out of my 96 Stang to see what kinda pump that I might be able to squeeze into the opening. I think I can get the Walbro 400lph pump in there with a little bit of trimming. Other than that, what else can I do? A 255 will go in there, but I dont think it will be enough for my s475 5.3 possibly on e85 at say 14-16 psi. Would a 255 in-line in addition to the in-tank work?

Thanks fellas.

The 450 fit threw the opening on my carbed fox body tank so it should fit into yours just need to get creative with the pump housing

Depends if you wanna stay with a internal or run a external pump. I plan on running the magna fuel 4303 pump on mine.

I'd like to avoid the sump thing only b/c there isnt anybody around here qualified to weld that good to avoid leaks. I had a sump installed on my Chevelle by a shop recommened by a local speed shop and that turned-out to be a disaster.

Get a 98 fuel tank. It has a 5ish inch fuel pump hole where the level sender is on your tank. Enough room to fit 3 welbros if necessary. And it bolts right up.

Thanks guys - these give me options!

Looking at my tank, there's a fuel tray in there. I assume the factory pump doesnt use the jet-siphon action like some of the newer fuel pumps do. Think its OK just to use that fuel pick-up tube and an external pump? just wondering if the tray has enough capacity. I like the Holley Dominator 2-in-1 fuel pump.

External pumps don't like to pull fuel so throwing a cheap 255 as a lift pump

Bringing this back-up...

If I use the 98+ tank that has the larger opening, I can squeeze a couple of pumps in there. My question is, will this work (in terms of proper baffling)? The stock fuel pump is more of a module rather than just a plain ol pump in there.

I think if your going to try that route, just make sure they are pushed up into the back of the tank closest to the rear and all the way at the bottom.

JAX04, are you using the Granatelli pick-up? I think that would be the easiest/cheapest route, so long as the tray in the tank would suffice. Then I can run a couple of external pumps which would be situated low enough to be below the tank.
