Was about to purchase some GTO spares for the purpose of front runners (with M&H tires). Then I read about the bolt pattern and speed/load rating concerns.....
Now I'm debating purchasing them. Just a week ago I had a shop try to sell me "proper drag front's", Weld's with the correct bolt pattern, but required some brake grinding and a set of spacers and studs. Now I'm just confused. Is grinding the brakes for "proper" drag fronts safer than the GTO/M&H combo???
Anybody???

if you are posting then you simply aren't comfortable with the idea. And based on that I'd suggest sticking with the factory fronts for piece of mind on the street and swapping for added lightness on the track.
spacers are inherently less safe, however putting longer studs on, so the nuts maintain max thread bite is the right way to go about it.
i haven't read up on what brake grinding is tbh (take material off the caliper?) and that sounds like the exact reason one would buy spacers is to clear the calipers.
gl on getting clear recommendations from a pro!

IMO, go with a 17" skinny wheels up front.
