CircleD 2E 4000 Custom Stall

CircleD 2E 4000 Custom Stall
I've been chatting with Chris about this stall for my setup. He says it's a little difference than the 4D or 5D most folks run, because it's easier off the line but pulls insane up top and has great efficiency. STR I believe is around 2.0.
It's a little loose for the street, but it'd make for a great street converter due to how it hits the tires and pulls from a roll. It'd also be excellent for bracket racing.
I haven't seen much on it though. Has anyone used it?
My mods are in my sig and right now I just have the stock 10-bolt with 3.23s. With 3.73s, it should tighten up a bit for the street.

Oh, they used to put the E stators in the 230 cases. Good that they put them in the bigger ones now... they're very efficient but don't hit as hard as the C/D. Good for The 6l80 or 4L60, but not as much for the T400/4L80 unless you have a lot of power, because first gear ends up lazy.

Thanks for posting the questions about the 2E Jake... I wanted to chime in here to clear up a few things. The 2E is a 245mm diameter. Great choice for bracket or roll racing, a little softer hit but pull like crazy on the big end. We still offer the 230mm and can do it in a lock up, but the 245mm is by far the most popular choice. And Jake mentioned a 4D or 5D, and I think he was referring to our 4C or 5C. That is all, carry on....

I have CDS 2E converters in my wife's blue SS, our white SS that was our daily driver and one in my son's pewter SS. I have tried many different converters over the years and always go back to the 2E. We bracket race a lot and it is absolutely the best converter out there IMO. When we put the 3.73 gears in the white SS is made the car feel much tighter and very streetable by most peoples standards. The 2E and 3.73 gear combo is my personal favorite for a street strip set up. The softer hit off the line also allows the stock 10 bolt to live much longer.
There are at least 10 guys that race with us that run the 2E and love it. It's kind of one of those things you don't want your opponent to know about
You will be very pleased with the 2E

I was in the same boat last year. I had a vig 3200 stall and wanted something that drove great and hit and pulled hard. TXCAMSS steered me towards the E or C converter.
I also talked to Chris, he made it tough to decide.. Lol. I said screw it 5C baby!!! 4000-4200 stall. Best decision i ever made in my life. Drove like a 3200 stall, and pulled like a monster!!! The C is the shiznit. I will be ordering another one here shortly.

Softer hit = slower 60ft? How much slower then one of the other converters, all else equal. Loaded question I know....
As a sidenote, I'm sure me and CDS talked about this same converter for my combo a couple of years ago. Almost pulled the trigger on it. Thinking back, I do wish my SS4k was a tad looser, and maybe a tad more efficient....but the initial hit is what gives you the jump on someone and the better 60ft IMO. I want the hit to be as hard as possible bc in your average race against similar cars, you can win in the first 60ft (not talking street tires).

Different converters have different characteristics. I have gone from a hard hitting 4000 stall to the softer hitting efficient 2E and you do loose a couple in the 60ft, but the efficiency of the 2E will improve the ET 2 fold at the 1/8th mile marker and even more in the 1/4. If you are racing just 60fts then yes the harder hitting TC will win, but anything beyond that, the more efficient 2E takes over. If a hard street tire is used, then the hard hitter just becomes a tire fryer and looses again.
It's just a personal preference really. Some like to snap the front wheels off the ground at the track with a sticky tire and have the ability to smoke their street tires at will when playing on the street. The 2E isn't going to be the best choice for those guys.
A fellow bracket racer had a Vig 3600 in his mid 11 second F-body and swapped to the CDS 2E. He picked up a tick over 2/10ths in the 1/4 and 3 mph. Both TCs flashed to 4000 rpms on his data logs. He did loose a couple in the 60ft and the Vig felt a little tighter on the street, but he is sold on the CDS 2E. I hope that helps.

I'm sorry but... Converter A 60' a 1.55 and converter B 60' a 1.70... Then converter A traps 118 and converter B traps 120.
Converter B will not make for the quicker car. I would MUCH rather have a .1 quicker 60' and 2mph slower trap any day.
It takes a lot to pull back a .1 deficit in the 60' all else equal.. Unless you just have a horribly inefficient converter, I don't see one being able to make up the ET with the MPH it has.

LOL. I was not referring to an exaggerated difference like that. That difference in 60' would never be recoverable. I was comparing two 245mm converters that had different build characteristics in cars with the same HP level. I was thinking say a 1.58 60ft to a 1.55 60ft with the 1.58 60ft TC being more efficient down track, it could be a full tenth quicker. I've seen it done time and again with various brands of converters. Most of the time it's people running a mismatched converter for their application and intended use. There are so many variables that well, yes it is a loaded question. lol.

I can tell you that I run the 1e in my 2010 as. It may be a softer hit, but the 60s aren't poor. Lol. I went 1.485 60 on stock suspension and with a basic cam/ bolt in setup.
The e converters love to leave off idle, mine only drops 1000 on the shift and it pulls hard up top.
