315 35 17 needs tires
which tire do you prefer?
this is a DD with not much strip action going on
i have the Nitto 555R but i feel that they wear a bit too quickly
what about MT ET Street IIs?
or Sumitomo HTRZs?
I feel that NT05s would be a bad idea on a DD.
I heard on LS1 that one guy ran Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas and said they were great in the rain.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Id like to get more the 20K out of my rear tires especially when im not burning them off at every stop light

The regular NT555 (non-drag) is the perfect DD tire in that size. Even the NT05 wouldn't be bad, but they're a tad aggressive for just street duty. If you want more treadlife no way would you want the ET Streets, they'd be far worse than your 555Rs. Also skip the junk Sumitomos.

Sumitomos will last forever, but its not a performance tire. I have a set that i put a few thousand miles on and they look brand new. The toyo proxy tq are awesome, and a great deal. Thats what i have.

I had goodyear eagle f1 gs d3's on my car, excellent treadwear, good warm weather grip, poor cold weather grip, OUTSTANDING in the rain, almost like it were dry! They were expensive though.

Nothing against the nt05's i just think for the price an a dd tire the 555's cant be beat. Yea their are better tires but to get a w an z speed rated tire with a 300 tread wear rating is almost unheard of and the 555r's an nt05's just dont have it. The 555r drags are 100 an so are the nt05r's. the regular nt05's are 200 utqg rating. If its more dd imo the regular 555's are the better investment unless you are dead set on dr's

The Kumho Ecsta XS have a ton of dry grip for a street tire. The Goodyears have the best combination of dry and wet performance. The Sumitomo are average but come in at a very good price point.

Sumotomo's are total crap. They don't hook, they are loud, and dont wear well either. The GY F1 GSD3 is a great all around tire in wet or dry conditions. But they are very very pricey. For the $$$ the Nitto 555 extreme is most tire for your money. If your going to run 315s and you are one a budget they are the only way to go.

There is absolutely no better daily driver tire than the Goodyear GS-D3. I had 315 35 17 on my car and they gripped better than BFG Drag radials. AMAZING wet traction, just sick. And they last forever.
Next to that tire.......I've been on a set of 315 35 17 Nitto 555 Extremes in the rear because i couldn't find any GS-D3's at the time. They are damn close to as good as the GS-D3 in every way. Cheap too, but certainly one of the best DD tires you can get.
So you will love either brand.
