Default need trans am shorty antenna

I've read all about the bitviper antenna but from what i understand it only work if you have a fixed non motorized antenna from the factory. I want to get rid of my motorized antenna and get a 3 inch fixed antenna. Any one do this?

There are a number of posts that list the parts needed to go fixed.

I went with the hidden antenna and welded up the hole for the OEM one. It works great downtown.

This is a great alternative for folks near populated areas: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...m-antenna.html

This is how you get it to look "good": https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...haved-you.html

The factory power antenna and fixed antenna are interchangeable so there is no reason a replacement shorty antenna wouldn't work regardless of what you had from the factory.

My power one broke, no way I was dropping a $100 for another PITA power antenna. Got a boat antenna off of ebay for $4, ran it up the side panel towards the roof, works okay not great.
