shifter question 70 camaro ls2 with 4l60e
will my existing stock shifter (horseshoe type)work with the combo im about to drop into my camaro. had a 700r4 going with 4l60e, also will my existing crossmember work?

hard to tell as the 4L60e has a deeper bellhousing, but that all depends on the where the motor mounts put the engine. On the shifter if it is a cable shifter just pull it out and hook it up on the trans and mock it up outside the car.... much easier to check when you dont have tight spaces to work in.

The rear transmission mounting boss for the 700R4 is located on the case and for the 4L60-4L75 transmissions is located on the extension housing, which means the same crossmember is not bolt-in compatible for both...some inginuitive thinking and a welder can take care of that though.
