Default Magnaflow muffler vs stock gains...realistically?? .1 & 1mph??

Does anybody have proven results??? track or dyno?? what can i expect from a magnaflow 14267 muffler swap..? Im not quite sure if i should expect a Full .1 and 1mph, or maybe .2 and 1.5-2.0mph in the 1/8 or what???

I have the muffler already... traded a weed eater to my brother... so its free and brand new in the box...

I went 8.37 at 85.26mph at 1422' DA... Who thinks an 8.2x at 86+mph can be had in identical weather conditions?? or possibly even quicker???

7-10 rwhp? Not a chance. You might gain a couple at best. If you're shooting for a power gain without having to really tear anything apart, get a cutout.

If you had a catback, maybe. Muffler, no.

I think it's just kind of universal knowledge to be honest lol. I mean if you don't believe it do a goggle search, search the forums, etc...

There are good gains to be had in ditching the stock exhaust, but a good portion of that is a crappy y pipe and I pipe. Just changing the muffler alone won't net much.

Ok.. so why does everyone say there is such a big difference between a Flowmaster and a magnaflow or LM1/2 catback then?? they have the same 3" piping??? stock I-pipe is 2-3/4"...

Well first of all Flowmaster mufflers are chambered which will not flow as well as a straight through style muffler, and a lot of the transverse style mufflers like FM don't flow as well either. All in all there is little difference between the actual mufflers themselves in terms of hp, but the real difference is more in the rest of the the exhaust system

the flowmaster crossflow muffler sucks and becomes a huge restriction with a modded car

there won't be much difference in power between a LM1, LM2, or Magnaflow (the LM1 is just loud and raspy as ****)

There is a guy on here with a green ls swapped lt1 style car that claimed to pick up power by only switching the muffler, but I do not think he was stock otherwise.

im gonna put it on soon... i figured 3-5... hoping for 7ish.... just wanted real world results with documentation... not people saying, Oh you wont notice it, blah blah blah... I notice everything. I notice Night and Day differences.. Literally, day time to night time... at nighttime it cools off and car runs hard as hell.

The extra 0.74 mph you need to get to 86 mph in the 1/8 mile is well within the variances of changes in the air, temperature, etc. Even if you hit 86 mph, it would be tough to say with any certainty it was only because of the muffler swap.
