Default TSP Headers ORY Loudmouth1 Retarted loud!

I just installed my TSP headers and off road Y pipe and its annoyingly LOUD! just as good as straight pipes the noise coming out of this system

what muffler would give it a nice deep rumble and get rid of all the high ear piercing sound I have now?

Try that setup with heads and cam lol So when I say I understand what you are saying...I really mean it lol! I am looking at doing a Magnaflow 14419 muffler in place of the LM1, and maybe a merge or crossover pipe of some sort. Should still be loud as hell, but would cut down on a lot of the rasp from what I hear

I would just get a magnaflow catback. If you think its loud now, wait until you do a heads/cam swap.

To answer your question though you can add high flow cats. That will REALLY quiet it down. If its still too loud add a magnaflow or borla bullet.

I want some noise its amussle car and i want it to sound like one but right now its just horrible uncontrolled high pitch noise

not really wanting to buy a whole catback since this is a stainless system really just would like to do a muffler swap and put money in a tune

Magnaflow 14419 sits behind the axle any thing i can just install in place of the loudmouth resonator for a simple install?

Yes the 11419 had almost the exact same dementions as the LM1. It may require a very small amount of cutting (not sure) but is almost identical

Obviously you didn't do your homework...everyone knows that SLP loudmouth with no cats...and ESPECIALLY with headers will be ridiculously loud.

To answer your question go with the Borla Stinger, it's what most people choose to convert ther SLP resonator to, others will choose Magnaflow. Those are the two most common.

I had a LM with TSP headers with a 233/239 cam.I just put a Flowmaster catback on and it sounds really good.I also just put a Hooker cat back on my wifes Z28 and that sound really good also.I like the flange setup on the Hooker system better but the tips are much nicer on the Flowmaster.

I had a Magnaflow bullet in place of the Dynomax bullet that comes with the TSP Rumbler (same catback minus the bullet type) and it was still loud but much much better. If I had another f-body I'd do a Borla bullet instead of Magnaflow bullet, I like the tone the Borla puts out vs. Magnaflow.

thanks for all the input, not a fan of flowmasters I have them on my 87 C10 dont really like them but since I have electric dumps I car them a hair and sounds cool

I guess right now i'm thinking Borla or a magnaflow

Magnaflow or SLP Dual/Dual if you can get your hands on them should tame her down a bit.

I know on my system the lm1 resonator is bolten in. So a swap would be a breeze.

Got a LM2 dumped at the axle right now and it sounds pretty good...... Switching to the dual dual slp muffler tomorrow though. Too much rasp even with the LM2, but it is way quieter than the LM1

Going to depend on your tone preference. The Borla mufflers produce a deeper, thicker tone whereas the Magnaflow is a little more balanced. Ironically, I prefer the Borla tone even though I have the Magnaflow on my car (went with the Magnaflow to make sure I could get under a track's db limit).

Either would reduce the rasp on your current setup and provide a little tone to the exhuast note.

Personally, I went with LT + ORY + e-cutout and a turndown in the intermediate pipe + Magnaflow rear section. I keep the cutout about 30% open to get the extra volume and help with the flow however still get the benefit of the tone of the catback. H/C/I car with a setup that has a very aggressive sound without the rasp.

i did this. the rasp was terrible. so i swapped to magnaflow. it has made it tolerable, with even the cam. Im doing duals, but the bullet made it bearable for the last 8 or 9 months.

theres with the lm resonator
and heres with the magnaflow in place of the resonator

and how it is now, even though I plan on swapping in the duals this weekend

Yeah, I remember seeing these clips a while back. You hit it right on the head when you said making it "tolerable" lol. That's all I would really be expecting with this change to be honest. It did remove a good amount of rasp though while still being pretty damn loud?

what Magnaflow muffler is that?

thinking if I leave the resonator and add that magnaflow (if theres room) might just be what I'm looking for
